[ARCHIVED] 2022 Cass County E-Waste Collection scheduled for October 15

The Cass County Sustainability Committee will hold their 2022 E-Waste Collection Event on Saturday October 15, in the Family Center parking lot at Mill-Walk Mall. The event will run from 8 a.m. until noon.

E-Waste recycling events will take your electronics for safe destruction and recycling.  

Many items are accepted for free; others require a small fee to be accepted. A fee will apply to all CRT Monitors, CRT Televisions Rear Projection Televisions and LCD or Plasma Televisions and Monitors; this is due to the hazardous nature of some components in these items.  All other items can be recycled for free.

Items accepted at no charge include: Computer towers, keyboards, printers, laptops, tablets, cell phones, landline phones, cassette players, VCR/DVD players, computer mouse, copiers, canners, routers, gaming systems, radio/stereos, lithium-Ion batteries from laptop or cell phone only, APC battery back-up, cords and wiring from electronics, small household appliances such as coffee maker, blender, toasters, etc. 

Fees will apply for:

LCD or Plasma TVs & Monitors: $20/each;

CRT based televisions under 26 inches (diagonal), Rear Projection TVs and CRT monitors: $25/each;

CRT based televisions over 26 inches (diagonal): $30/each

Applicable fees must be paid for by cash or check.  Please leave original packaging at home.

Items not accepted include: CDs, floppy disks, flash drives or VCR tapes, ink or toner cartridges, alkaline batteries, nickel-cadmium or metal-hydrate batteries, batteries for power tools and light bulbs.
