[ARCHIVED] Hope for a bright future highlights City Administrator's 2021 State of the City Address

State of the City 2022

It was a night spent reflecting on and appreciating a year that laid vital groundwork for the coming decades of the Harrisonville community, as City Administrator Brad Ratliff presented his 2021 State of the City Address to the Mayor and Board of Aldermen during their February 22, meeting.

City Administrator Ratliff took time to present a broad, yet purposefully detailed look back at Harrisonville during the past year, all while making sure everyone had their minds focused on vital steps planned for the coming years.

Ratliff began his presentation by speaking to the value of knowledge and the ability it can provide to assist elected officials in answering questions from residents and those in the community. Ratliff went on to provide insight into topics such as, City-wide funds, budget improvements, debt reduction and expenditures, Kansas City metro area tax levy's, utility and tax rates in Harrisonville, property taxes in Harrisonville, an overview of each City department and a look back at key accomplishments from both the Board and from City staff.

The address was summed up with these words, "I believe that in 2021, we began to see the growth that we have worked so hard for. And I am hopeful to see even more as we enter 2022!"
