[ARCHIVED] Spring City-Wide Clean Up rescheduled due to COVID-19 pandemic

City-Wide Clean-up spring 2019

In an effort to maintain both the COVID-19 social-distancing requirements and our commitment to the health and safety of the Harrisonville community, the 2020 Spring City-Wide Clean Up has been rescheduled.

The event, which was originally scheduled for May 15-16, will now tentatively be held on June 19-20. Please understand that the new event date is subject to change and will depend on the state of the COVID-19 pandemic at that time.

This year’s event will be held at a new location. Harrisonville residents will be able to bring items to the Streets Department facility, located at 1403 S Independence Street, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on each day and drop them off for FREE.

Accepted items at no cost: non-Freon appliances and metal items, water heaters, furniture, light construction debris, limited to one 16-foot trailer, and household trash. Freon appliances will be accepted, for a $25 charge.

Items not accepted: tires, auto batteries, oil, hazardous chemicals, paint, roofing shingles and yard waste. For more information about disposing of chemicals, oils, paint, antifreeze or other household hazardous waste items, visit www.recyclespot.org/hhw.aspx

The event is only available for those who live within the City limits. To participate, residents will be required to provide proof of residency within the incorporated City limits of Harrisonville. For example, a City of Harrisonville utility-billing statement.

Municipal Waste Services would also like to remind residents that they will pick up one bulky item per month, for free. To get your free item picked up, contact Municipal Waste Services (816) 406-9700 to schedule the pick-up.

The City of Harrisonville is taking steps to support the Cass County Health Department’s state of local disaster emergency declaration regarding COVID-19. The CCHD is the county’s public health expert and authority, and the City of Harrisonville will fully support their efforts to keep the community safe.
