UPDATE FROM MAY 20, 2020

Due to social distancing and capacity restrictions, the Harrisonville Municipal Court does not anticipate holding in-person hearings on June 3rd.

Staff are currently scheduling virtual hearings for the June 3 court date.

If your case is on that docket, please contact the Court at (816) 380-8903 or at court@harrisonville.com, to schedule a virtual hearing or to inquire about other options.

If your case was set for a trial on June 3, your trial has been postponed.  We will continue to monitor local conditions and will set a new date for trials when it is safer to do so.  Once a date has been set, you will receive a notification letter in the mail, at least two weeks in advance.

Staff are currently evaluating similar plans for the June 17, docket. When a decision about that docket is made, an update will be posted here.

Please contact the court with any questions or concerns.

ANNOUNCEMENT FROM MARCH 16, 2020

In an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and "flatten the curve", Judge William Collins has issued an administrative order that will cancel all municipal court dockets in the 17th Circuit through May 31.

The order will take effect on Thursday, April 2.

During that time frame, there are three dockets, April 15, May 6, and May 13, scheduled for Harrisonville Municipal Court.

Those in-person hearing dockets are now canceled. Staff will be reassigning each case to a future docket and will be working to notify attorneys and defendants, by mail summons, of their new court dates.

Defendants who have a Stay of Execution on payment of their fines for the April 15, May 6, or May 13 dockets will still need to make a minimum payment of $100 by that date. Defendants who are unable to make the minimum payment must call the court (816) 380-8903.  A letter will also be mailed to these defendants.

Payments can be made online, over the phone by calling 1-877-222-0377, mailed in or put in the Utilities Drop-Box at City Hall, located on the outside wall at 300 E Pearl Street, (Please clearly mark the envelope "For Court").
