**UPDATED ON MARCH 24th**
The Harrisonville Community Center (HCC) will be closed until April 24, due to the Cass County Stay-At-Home Emergency Order for (COVID19).
Community Center staff wants to reassure you that you will not pay for memberships you don’t have the opportunity to use, regardless of the length of the closure.
The auto-debit initiated on March 20, for the month of March has been reversed, and you will not be charged for your March membership. It is anticipated you will see the funds returned back into your account as soon as possible. HCC will continue to adjust future membership auto-debits for as long as the closure is in place.
For all Paid-in-Full Memberships (30Day, 90Day, 1Year), your membership expiration date will automatically be extended by the total number of days the facilities remain closed.
ORIGINAL POST FROM MARCH 17
Harrisonville Parks & Recreation (HPR) will be closing the Harrisonville Community Center effective March 18, through March 29, due to social distancing recommendations from the Center for Disease Control, Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, Cass County Health Department and other public health experts surrounding COVID-19. This closure includes the North Park Building. Facility rentals and activities at these locations will also be canceled.
All recreational programming, activities, leagues and events are postponed until further notice. This includes all adult and youth activities, both indoors and outdoors. HPR will continue to work with the South Metro Youth Sports Association as they determine their course of action for spring programs.
Following a recommendation from the Mid-America Regional Council, the Cass County Council on Aging announced that they will be closing the Senior Center, hosted at the Community Center, starting Monday, March 16, for the remainder of the month of March (March 31). Officials say the Meals on Wheels program will continue.
The center will be closed for at least 12 days (March 18th – March 29th). For each account that is set up for auto-deductions, those accounts will be receiving a credit amount for each day of this specific closure. This credit amount will be put towards the March auto-deduction. For all Paid in Full Memberships (30-Day, 90-Day, 1-Year), membership expiration dates will automatically be extended by the total number of days the facilities remain closed.
HPR will continue to provide periodic updates for the education and awareness of our patrons and employees. Visit the Parks & Recreation website at www.hparks.com, www.harrisonville.com or our social media pages for information.
