Services/Programs
The Engineering Department oversees the design and implementation of capital projects and assists with plan review. The department plans and administers the five-year capital improvement program
Responsibilities
The Engineering Division of Public Works is involved with the construction of subdivision infrastructure and capital improvement projects including:
- Water mains
- Storm/sanitary sewers
- Street construction
Engineering also manages the annual contracted street maintenance program which includes:
- Asphalt overlay
- Curb replacement
- Street striping

Summary
The Engineering Division provides the City with technical expertise for managing the City's infrastructure from concept through construction. The division deals with both private development projects and the city's capital projects program. Technical areas include transportation, traffic, stormwater, water, sanitary sewer, construction management. Staff members also provide technical support to the airport, and operations division of Public Works, as well as the Water, Waste Water, and Electric Utilities Departments.
