Full-Time Employee Benefits

The City of Harrisonville provides the following benefits for all full-time employees:

  • Medical / vision insurance
    • The city pays up to $480 per month for major medical and vision insurance for an employee; up to $710 for second tier major medical and vision coverage, which is for an employee plus his or her choice of either spouse or children; or up to $810 per month for major medical and vision insurance for an employee and his or her dependents (spouse and children).
    • The employee is responsible for dependent coverage through payroll deductions
  • Dental insurance for employee paid by city
    • Employee is responsible for dependent coverage through payroll deductions
  • Five weeks of Paid Time Off (PTO) - accrued throughout the year.
  • Life insurance ($50,000) paid by city
  • Long term disability
  • Deferred compensation plan - not matched by city
  • Cafeteria plan - health care reimbursement; dependent care reimbursement; premium savings
  • Free membership to the Harrisonville Community Center for the employee & discounted rates for family members
  • Retirement (LAGERS) paid by city
  • Longevity pay - starting at 10 years of service
  • Bi-weekly pay periods
  • Performance reviews with possible salary increases given after six-month introductory period, then annually from that introductory completion date
