                                                               Police Officer

The Harrisonville Police Department is looking for individuals who are ready to help the
community by joining our 25 police professionals as a full-time patrol officer.

Applicants must have Missouri POST certification, be at least 21 years of
age and possess a valid Driver’s license. Applicants will be checked on their
readiness through a required written examination, CVSA, extensive
background investigation, oral review board, post offer employment
physical test, eye exam, and pre-employment drug screen. There is NO
residency requirement for police officers.

The department offers a competitive pay range as well as benefits that include:

Patrol officers work 12-hour shifts with 11 paid holidays per year. Creative

the year to include every other three-day weekend. We also offer a take
home car program for full-time officers residing within the City limits.

                                                    Operator - Wastewater Plant

The City of Harrisonville, Missouri is accepting applications for a full-time wastewater treatment plant operator.

No wastewater experience is necessary. Must be able to obtain a level-D state wastewater operator’s license within a year. Previous experience as a mechanic or water and sewer main construction is a plus. Must be able to respond to emergency call out.

Successful candidate will be required to have a minimum Class B CDL license w/air brakes and Tanker certification within 6 months, must have a high school diploma or GED. Successful candidate will be required to relocate to within 30 minute drive time to the Wastewater Treatment Plant at 1404 Clearwater Drive.

Electric Journeyman Lineman
Starting pay - $25.86 to $38.80/hour
 

The City of Harrisonville, MO is accepting applications for a full-time Electrical Journeyman Lineman. The position will be under the general direction of the Electric Department Superintendent.

The position will help perform the objectives of the Electrical Department; help establish, develop and maintain working relationships with governmental and community agencies; help perform the maintenance and construction of electrical facilities; maintain the power supply to the community and rural areas of Harrisonville to build and install new service to customers.

A Journeyman Lineman Certification is required and a minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in electrical distribution is preferred. Must be able to climb poles, ascend or descend ladders, regularly lift, carry, push pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 100 pounds. Will be subject to on-call and on occasion have to work long hours and overtime during holidays, emergencies, and weekends.

Work is primarily outdoors and will be exposed to extreme weather conditions. Successful candidate will be required to have a minimum Class B CDL license w/air brakes, must have a high school diploma or GED. Successful candidate will be required to relocate to within 30 minutes drive time to the Electric Department Warehouse.

Pay range $25.86 to $38.80/hour, depending on experience and qualifications, the city offers excellent benefits.

Firefighter/EMT
                                        Starting pay - $34,702 - $52,054 a year

POSITION SUMMARY

Harrisonville, MO, is a 4th class city located 30 miles south of Kansas City, Missouri with a population of approximately 10,000. Harrisonville Emergency Services is a department with up to date equipment with state of the art EMS equipment. Currently employee’s 21 full time personnel including command staff that performs the challenging work of emergency medical care, fire suppression, fire prevention and rescue. The fire department operates a 24 hour Modified Berkley Schedule. The department operates one ALS engine, and two fully staffed ALS ambulances from one station.

JOB RESPONSIBILTIES

• Responds to emergency situations and incident to suppress fires, affect rescues/extrications, participated in searches, mitigate hazardous materials and perform other duties as assigned and capable.
• Operate firefighting tools, aerial equipment, emergency medical equipment, extrication and rescue equipment and a variety of related tools and vehicles.
• Provide basic life support and emergency medical care.
• Participates in on-going technical and physical training to maintain certifications.
• Cleans and performs routine maintenance and minor repairs to department facilities.
• Participates in fire prevention and safety education/promotional events. Conducts station tours and gives presentations and demonstrates the use of the fire suppression and safety equipment.
• Assists in documenting incident and provides incident information to appropriate agencies and supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
• Possession of a valid state driver’s license
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Missouri EMT-B Certification

Preferred Qualifications:
• Vocational/technical training in firefighting and emergency medical treatment with two years of firefighting and EMT experience or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Possession of EMT-B certification, Firefighter I & II (preferred), hazardous materials operation, advanced life support, and basic life support certifications (CPR-Health Care Provider).

• Possession of EMT-P certification, Firefighter I & II (preferred), hazardous materials operation, advanced life support, and basic life support certifications (ACLS, PALS, BTLS, CPR-Health Care Provider).

COMPENSATION
