2016 Court Audit
The Harrisonville Municipal Court received a rating of "Good" from Missouri State Auditor Nicole Galloway, CPA, following its official audit for the period of Jan. 1- Dec. 31, 2015.

Responsibilities

The Harrisonville Municipal Court handles all traffic charges, housing code violations and any violations of the general ordinances of the City of Harrisonville.

Court Sessions

Court sessions are usually held in Council Chambers inside City Hall on the first and third Wednesday of the month.

On the first Wednesday docket of the month, incarcerated defendants are seen at 2:30 p.m. The trial docket begins at 3 p.m. and the arraignment docket begins at 5:30 p.m.

On the second Wednesday docket of the month, incarcerated defendants are seen at 4 p.m. The arraignment docket begins at 5:30 p.m.

Payable Offenses
By Mail -- If your fine is payable by mail, it will be indicated on the envelope attached to your ticket. Fines may be mailed to:

Make check or money order payable to the City of Harrisonville.

If the ticket is payable and is received in our office before the court date indicated at the top left corner of the ticket, no court appearance is required. If you are unsure whether your offense requires a court appearance or may be paid prior to your court date, please contact the court office at 816-380-8903.

Online - In order to make an online payment, you must have our case/ticket number as well as the total amount due.  You can get this information by calling the Harrisonville Municipal Court at 816-380-8903.

If your payment is past due, or your case is in warrant status you must contact the court to verify payment. 

Certain violations require a court appearance and cannot be paid online or by telephone.  For a schedule of standard fines which may be paid without an appearance, refer to the envelope that was provided to you along with your citation or click here.  With the exception of seat belt violations, court costs of $29.50 are assessed for every ticket. 

Payments must be submitted at least 24 hours prior to your next scheduled court date.  Failure to do so could result in additional fees and/or a warrant for your arrest.  Payments will not be posted to your case for 2 business days.

This service is offered as a convenience to the defendant.  Use of this service does not automatically close your case; certain violations require compliance or other court-ordered obligations before they are considered resolved.

Continuances
One continuance may be granted by phone to an attorney or defendant. However, no continuances are granted for cases that have been set for trial or when a bond has been posted. Neither the judge nor the prosecutor grants continuances prior to court.
