Emergency Medical Services
Background
Harrisonville Emergency Medical Services (EMS) was established in 1971.  It has grown from a volunteer service with one ambulance and seven personnel, into a service that employs six full-time paramedics, 12 part-time paramedics, and 20 part-time EMT's.  The department staffs two advanced life support ambulances and an additional ambulance in reserve for a heavy call load.  The department responds to nearly 3,000 calls a year. 


Services/Programs

Harrisonville EMS provides paramedic ambulance service to the citizens of Harrisonville and surrounding Cass County.  This includes the communities of Freeman, East Lynne, and Gunn City.  Harrisonville paramedics also provide Advanced Life Support to area Basic Life Support ambulance services in the communities of Garden City and Drexel.  Harrisonville EMS also provides ALS mutual aid to other communities in Cass County.
