Personnel & Staffing
In 2009, the residents of the City of Harrisonville overwhelmingly passed a public safety sales tax to support additional staffing and to provide 24-hour in station personnel. The results of this staffing change have dropped the response times to below the national standards. The department staffs two advanced life support ambulances and an additional ambulance in reserve for a heavy call load. All personnel are crossed trained to be certified in fire suppression and EMS certified.

Staffing
Harrisonville Emergency Services is headed by the fire chief and three shift captains. The department has nine firefighter / paramedics, 12 firefighter / EMTs, 20 part-time firefighter / EMTs, firefighter / paramedics, and two support personnel.

The department provides 24-hour coverage of emergency services (fire and emergency medical services). The department staffs two paramedic ambulances and a three-person Engine Company. A minimum of seven people are on duty at a time.

The Engine Company has a captain, firefighter / EMT, and a firefighter / paramedic. Both ambulances have one firefighter / EMT and one firefighter / paramedic.
