After spending more than a year diligently researching, planning, strategizing and seeking valued local input, our community has finalized a clear and decisive vision for Harrisonville.
The Harrisonville 2040 Comprehensive Plan was officially adopted by the Planning & Zoning Commission on May 19, 2022, with adoption coming from the Board of Aldermen on June 6, 2022.
Beginning in the summer of 2021, we worked with a number of partners, residents, and stakeholders for a year to lead the planning process and craft our goal of defining the vision of the Harrisonville community, as we look ahead one year, five years, 10 years and beyond.
The Comprehensive Plan is a policy document that expresses the community’s long-term desires for how the City accommodates and manages its growth. It provides guidance for City staff and elected officials as development projects are proposed and opportunities to improve and expand the city are presented in Harrisonville.
This document has been collaboratively produced by the City of Harrisonville, alongside many residents, business owners, partners, and other stakeholders.
